Meet Your Photographer — A Little About Me

Hi, I’m Kamila! 👋 I thought it was time I properly introduce myself and share a little about the person behind the camera. After all, when you choose a photographer, you’re trusting someone to capture some of your most precious memories — so it only feels right that you get to know me first.

I was born in Poland and came to the U.S. as a child when my family fled communism, eventually settling in Baltimore, Maryland. Growing up between two cultures shaped who I am and gave me a deep appreciation for storytelling — something that naturally led me to photography later in life. I’m a mom of three amazing kids — ages 15, 13, and 7 — and I’ve been married to my husband, my biggest supporter, for 20 years. I’m also a combat-wounded Air Force veteran, which is a big part of my journey and has taught me to value resilience, gratitude, and the little moments that make life beautiful.

When I’m not out capturing sweet family memories for my clients, you can usually find me in the kitchen or out in the community! I love cooking and being involved in my church—whether it’s helping prepare food for our annual International Festival, joining in on our Trunk or Treat fun, or photographing First Communion portraits for our parish families. I also stay busy cheering on my son’s soccer journey! I’ve previously served as Soccer Commissioner for our local sports organization, and these days I’m proud to be the Booster Club Secretary for his high school team.

My professional photography journey began in 2014, when I decided to turn my lifelong passion into a business. However, photography has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up inspired by my father’s love for the art, starting out with a 35mm film camera and spending countless hours learning the magic of developing images in a darkroom. Like many, my world shifted during COVID, and I had to pause my photography for a while. But last year, I officially restarted, and it feels so good to be back doing what I love. There’s nothing more rewarding than capturing genuine connections — whether it’s a giggling toddler running down the beach, a family soaking in golden-hour light, or a couple madly in love!

One thing you should know about me — I absolutely love to travel! 🌍 Over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to visit Italy, Germany, Qatar, France, the Bahamas, the Netherlands, Thailand, South Korea, and so many other incredible places. And when it comes to the U.S.? I’ve explored too many states to name — each one with its own charm, beauty, and unique stories. Travel inspires my photography and fuels my creativity; I’m always chasing light, color, and those fleeting moments you want to hold onto forever.When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll probably find me planning my next adventure, reading a good book, or spending time with my family. I truly feel blessed to do a job that allows me to meet so many amazing people and create images that you can hold onto for a lifetime.
